The 2025 Allen County Junior Fair Livestock Auction is just around the corner!
Our 4-H and FFA youth have been hard at work all year, dedicating countless hours to their livestock projects. These young individuals have not only gained valuable knowledge and hands-on experience, but they’ve also developed a strong sense of responsibility, commitment, and perseverance. These aren’t your average kids—they rise early, stay late, and put in the daily effort to feed, walk, groom, and care for their animals. Their dedication is truly inspiring, and their accomplishments deserve to be recognized.
We will again have a “Premium Only” auction. The bidding will begin over and above the market price and will be in dollars of Premium only.
Auction Dates:
Thursday, August 21 – Rabbits & Chickens
Friday, August 22 – Goats, Lambs, Dairy Milk, Llama/Alpaca Fiber, Goat Milk, Beef & Dairy Beef Steers, and Hogs
Add-On Details:
- Minimum add-on: $25
- Open to individuals, families, and businesses
- NEW: Add-ons accepted online at allenjr.fairwire.com/addon starting August 21Deadline: September 3 at Noon
- Add-ons may qualify as a tax write-off
If you choose to contact buyers, please take these factors into consideration:
- Send a letter in the mail and include these items
- Your name, project, and date of sale. Include your parent's names
- Include information on our NEW on-line add-on's. Many businesses cannot attend our auction, but would take a few minutes to submit add-on money. Add-on's are above and beyond the money you received in the ring.
- Thank them for their support.
- Did you send a thank-you letter to them if they purchased your animal last year?
- Does your family conduct business with them?

- A complete Thank You list will be available after September 3rd, once we stop accepting add-ons.
What are Add-Ons?
Add-ons are extra contributions from buyers that help boost the sale amounts for exhibitors, we even recieve contributions from some buyers that help several exhibitors with lower auction totals.
Want to Thank a Buyer You Know?
- You may take a photo of your thank you note or card and save it for now. Buyers also love to receive a small gift with their card or letter.
- Wait until after September 3rd to check the final Thank You list.
- Once the list is posted, make sure you’ve thanked everyone on it.
- Then, send all your thank you pictures at once.
This process helps ensure no one is missed and makes everything smoother for everyone. Thanks for your cooperation!
Auction Checks
Livestock Auction & Carcass Check Info
- Livestock Auction checks are usually not available until sometime in October.
- Carcass checks (price per pound) for your animals — except Chickens and Rabbits — will be ready the first week of September.
Important:
Before you come to pick up any checks, watch for official notices to confirm they’re ready.

- Completed Thank You cards, letters, and gifts to all buyers.
