The Ohio State University Extension will be holding a Farmland Leasing Workshop on Monday, January 13th, 2014 from 6:00-9:00 pm in the Voinovich Auditorium at Northwest State Community College in Archbold, Ohio.
The annual Corn & Soybean Day program is scheduled for January 23rd at Sauder Farm and Craft Village’s Founders Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Optional CORE & Category 6 sessions for pesticide applicator credits are available from 3:45 to 5:15 pm).
The Allen County Extension office will be offering the Master Gardener training program this year. This program provides intensive training in horticulture to interested gardeners who then volunteer their time assisting with educational programs and activities for Ohio residents.
The Ohio State University has begun a new fund-raising campaign to support students from all 88 Ohio counties. The "Ohio Scholarship Challenge" seeks to raise $100 million in general undergraduate scholarship funds for Ohio State students at all campuses. This Challenge is also part of the university’s larger effort to raise $500 million in private funds for student financial aid and scholarships. The Ohio Scholarship Challenge honorary co-chairs are Ohio State head football Coach Urban Meyer and men’s basketball Coach Thad Matta.

Applications are being accepted for the Master Training Class of 2013. Ohio Master Gardeners attend 50 hours of training and provide 50 hours of volunteer service to the community as volunteer educators. The Training Classes will meet Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 - 9 pm at the OSU Lima Campus, Lima, OH from September 23 through November 18.
