4-H Youth Development

Page About 4-H
"4-H is a community of young people across America learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills." Youth are involved in hands-on, experiential education that allows learning by doing. All 4-H programs focus on active involvement and quality experiences which stimulate lifelong learning of values and skills. 4-H programs are leader-directed and youth-focused. Two hundred seven adult volunteers give their time to coordinate activities for 1022 youth in 53 Huron Couny 4-H community clubs. Every 4-H member must enroll in at least one 4-H project. Of all members who joined 4-H in the spring, 96.5% were still members at the end of the year. Cloverbuds is an activity-based, non-competetive program for members in grades K-2. Fifty-three specially trained advisors guided 210 Cloverbud members.
