Horticulture In Delaware County

We have a talented group of Master Gardeners who man our "Horticulture Helpline" from April through October here at our office: 149 North Sandusky Street.

The Master Gardeners are a volunteer organization trained through and connected with Ohio State University Extension.

The public may call (740) 833-2030 for answers to any kind of gardening question from insects to lawn and landscaping, trees and vegetable gardening. The hotline is free.

Though the Master Gardeners will answer questions year round, they man a hotline 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, during the growing season, April through October. If a volunteer is not available to man the helpline, the extension office will make sure that the question will be forwarded to a qualified Master Gardener who will assist.

As well as helping to answer everyday gardening questions, Master Gardeners participate in several projects throughout the county, such as helping to set up community gardens and teaching various classes on gardening.
